Eliminate Repetition	Names, addresses, prices, etc. are only typed one time. In any part of the program, wherever you need to specify which client, which horse, which service and price, Forge Ahead presents you with a drop-down list, and you simply click on the one you need. In addition to saving time, this eliminates typing errors and makes your work consistent. Since you only type "Aluminum shoes - 4" one time, then select it wherever necessary, it always looks the same. Back to Top
Multi-Purpose Information	Many people (and some computer programs!) think of tasks like "billing for work completed" and "scheduling future work" as separate things, and in one sense they are. But there is important information from one that can make the other easier, and good software should take advantage of these situations. For example... In Forge Ahead, the task of creating a bill for work performed on a horse automatically updates the horse's Last Visit date. That date is used in scheduling to inform you of when the horse is due to be serviced next. Another example of sharing information from different parts of the program: the Daily Appointments report lets you know if any of your appointments owe you money, and if so, how much. Back to Top
Organization of Important Records	Building on the previous point, Forge Ahead will let you input data at the most convenient point(s) in the system, and will pull together data that you need to review in the most meaningful ways. Simply by creating invoices for all work performed, you are also building detailed histories for each horse. But you don't need to look through old invoices when you want to review what's been done to a horse, you simply click a button to create a history report customized for that horse. Easier Tax Preparation	Finanacial reports can be run at any time, to include any time period you specify. Pick the report, the time period, and click to view financial transactions (items billed, money received, expenses).
